For those of you who don’t get the Wall Street Journal, here is an outside view of the Agriprocessors matzav, and what some Jews are doing about it. (Its also a plug for my fellow “36 under 36” recipient Shmuly Yanklowitz, co-founder of Uri L’Tzedek.)

While at work, and in dire need of entertainment, my friend sent me a link to a restaurant review and urged me to look down to comment #25.  Comment #25 was posted by a woman wanting to know if this is a good place for her to bring her children for dinner in the city.  [...]

Drink Wine. Israeli Wine.

Maybe it’s just me, but everywhere I turn in Jerusalem, I am sucked into a conversation about wine. We are on the approach to the Pentecost, also known as Shavuot. On the holiday of Shavuot there is a well known custom not to eat any meat. There is a lesser known custom of the day prior to Shavuot not to eat any meat or any milk. Both customs are of [...]

Jewneric Comes to a City Near You Soon. Will You Be There?

For a little while now, we, the Jewneric Partners, have been considering throwing a party. Well, actually, it would be a series of parties. Well, actually, it would be a series of phat networking events (I’m bringing back the word “phat”). Well, actually, it would be a [...]

Matzah and the Boston Marathon

Every year on Patriots Day, a Massachusetts holiday celebrating the start of the Revolutionary War in Concord, thousands of people run the Boston Marathon. While not as famous as its New York counterpart, over 25,000 runners take part. It usually falls on Pesach, many times Chol HaMoed, and Jews from all over the [...]
