Canada and Israel
As a Canadian it made me so proud to hear Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s address on Israel’s 60th birthday. It made me proud because PM Harper stands by Israel in a stronger way than, perhaps, any other sitting Prime Minister ever has.

Ethnocentricity “and the Jews”
Thomas L. Friedman wrote an inciteful (or insightful - I’m still trying to decide) article in the NYTImes on May 18th. In fact, over a day after being published it is still the most popular article emailed (but not blogged, go figure).
The title: Obama and the Jews.
In my estimation, he could have left out the [...]

Statistically Speaking…
Today I met a fascinating man. Well, that’s deceptive. He’s rather nondescript. His job sounds, and probably is, rather boring. He works with numbers, though not financially. He analyzes data, though nothing classified or secret.
He is Yeshiva University’s in-house statistician.
His job is to analyze data in using advanced statistical tools (I’ve been in a [...]
