B"H I have yet to hear anything about this either. There were posters put up in the Shomron about threats (yet again) to take down Mitzpeh Yitzhar and kick out it's residents. Mitzpen Yitzhar is not too far from Shchem.

Kokhav HaShahar is a town of many families and has been there for quite some time. Perhaps the reference was to new neighborhoods of caravans like Ma'aleh Shlomo. This does not make it less serious, of course.

Let's call it "expulsion," and not disengagement (just a silly euphemism). The gov't has learned from some of its mistakes in doing evil, and will try to do its evil this time more efficiently. There is a law proposed by Hayim Ramon YSh"W to make it illegal to live outside of the "security fence." There is another organization trying to encourage residents to move out voluntarily.

The gov't has also started reducing its Mivtzar security program, allowing residents to provide security to their own towns, and replacing them with soldiers. They know from experience in Azza that genereally speaking residents will not attack Jewish soldiers and there are plenty of "rabbanim tze'irim" (lashon HaRamba"m) who tell them not to refuse orders, and who tell reisdents to hug the soldiers and leave quietly.

Yitzhar and a few others will not leave quietly. There are many in the religious Zionist movement who will follow Torah before the state when there is a stirah. We follow rabbis like Rav Dov Lior of Hevron-Qiryath Arba, Rav Yisrael Ariel and Rav Eliaqim Levanon of Elon Moreh.

The gov't make try to neutralize these towns first, and there may be blood. HaShem yishor weyerahem!

As far as I understand from Israeli sources, this news has been coming for a while. In case of a peace settlement in the upcoming months, residents of the settlements that might be given back are being given the early opportunity to leave now peacefully so that there won't be the same problems that the nation encountered in 2005.
