Google, Yahoo & Facebook Officials to Attend Jerusalem Tech Conference

Machane YehudaSergey Brin, one of the founders of Google, will be attending the upcoming technical conference arranged by President Shimon Peres, to be held at Jerusalem’s Binyanei Ha’uma International Convention Center.

Brin, as well as Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, and Yahoo president Susan Decker will convene at a presidential panel on technology to be held at the Jerusalem International Convention Center, May 13-15. The panel will discuss issues facing technology in today’s age and the future, in particular with regard to how it will affect Israel and the Jewish world.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair will also take part in the conference, as will French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Vaclev Havel, Nobel Prize Laureate Eli Wiesel, and Georgia President Michael Saakashvili.

This is the first I have heard about this conference, and I am very excited. If there is any way I can attend this (sponsorship, anyone?), I will go, I will listen, I will report back. I attend a number of tech conferences in the US every year and blog professionally for GeniusRocket about the “Community Generated” space. This upcoming conference mixes my two blogging worlds and my passions — technology and Israel (vis a vis Judaism). I am sure that some of our Israeli corespondents will be in attendance, so you can expect unique coverage from Jewneric.
