He Who Attacks My Friends Attacks Me

Across the street from a federal and district court, no real security, out on the end of an island, Jewish institution. All of these four elements combined make my law school a perfect target for terrorism.
It is not something that is completely out of the question for us. We are aware, the courts are aware and the community is aware. The non-Jewish students in the school are all too aware as well. As a Catholic student in a Jewish institution, my friend Rob is a target. He is not necessarily one of the main people that is targeted in the attacks, but because he is here, he is therefore vulnerable. What are his thoughts? “He who attacks my friends attacks me. Coming to this school, being in this place, this is something that I believe in, and that includes the people here. Jewish or not, I believe in what this institution stands for.”
No one ever asks or wonders what happens to all of those victims of terror attacks in Jerusalem, or just people who are residents in the land, who are affected. From speaking with my family and friends in Israel who have non-Jewish friends, I have learned that they do support us in this battle that is being waged against us. One would expect a finger to be wagged in our direction whenever one of them is hurt or loses someone. Instead, they fight back and try to do what is right.
