Kosher Airport Food
A few months ago I was reading one of my favorite message boards, FlyerTalk, and I came across a post about kosher offerings at different airports. As a travel junky, and someone who keeps kosher, I was intrigued. It turns out that there is a kosher vendor at the Jet Blue terminal at JFK airport in New York, but nothing at Newark, where I tend to fly in and out of most when in the area. I know to always bring my own snacks, but sometimes with delays or when unforeseen hunger sets in, I wish there was something more than chips and a coke.
So I wrote a polite email to the Port Authority of New York asking for a solution. Then….nothing for 3 months.
Two weeks ago, I got this reply:
Thank you for your idea on selling Kosher food in Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport. I apologize for the delay in responding.
We are always looking for opportunities for our customers to enjoy the food they like while traveling through our airports. I have taken the liberty of forwarding your idea to the Terminal C concession manager for consideration.Continental Airlines has a contract with Westfield Concessions to provide the food and beverage and retail concessions in Terminal C.
Again, thank you for your thoughts and we appreciate your ideas as we continue to find ways to improve the airport experience for our customers. The Port Authority of NY and NJ
The conversation has proceeded since then. The Port Authority and Westfield Concessions are looking for a solution to help out all the Kosher food eating people out there.

I remembered this post, and I am right now sitting in the Jet Blue terminal in JFK so I re read it and looked up where the food is. Even though we brought….always good to have extra.
Thanks again…many months later.
