Odd Jewy Link for Today.
This is not a plug, but I did think these “Shabbos Goy” t-shirts were funny and wanted to share.
Sometimes it is really hard to find a decent shabbos goy (A non-Jew who does work on the Sabbath that a Jew cannot do) when you need one. I was in Israel recently with my wife and someone accidentally turned on the garbage disposal on shabbos. Wow was that thing loud; it was decided that the machine would break and could be a potential harm to those around if it went on indefinitely. With not a non-jew for miles (we were in Chashmonayim) we had to use a toddler to flick the switch.
What do you do in these situations? AND What was the oddest situation you have been in where a shabbos goy was necessary?
