Soapbox Hobo

You’ve probably seen him more often in TV, Movies and other visual media than you have on the street where he belongs. He’s the guy with the sign that says: “The end is near!”, “Kiss tomorrow goodbye!”, “Earth is doomed!” and other optimistic cheerful things. Today, I dare to be the crazy guy.

Hear me and hear me well. The end is a near. Forget what you thought you knew. Statistics regarding the world’s rapid demise won’t help any of the few left on the Earth after the apocalypse. The end is closer than you think. Closer than they’ll tell you and closer than they think.

Part of every good soapbox hobo is the prophetic vision. If I didn’t have a prophetic vision, what I will tell you has no meaning. I’d just be another crazy person. But I did have a prophetic vision. I’ve just been working to interpret it for over a decade. I’m still a crazy person. Just now I am a crazy person who believes that he is sane.

It was by a tree dedicated to a fallen victim of terror that I had my vision. The vision showed me my own demise and told me the year of grand reckoning. For those reading this who have yet to have a midlife crisis, now would be a good time. You almost certainly have more years behind you than you do in front of you. So said the Lord of Hosts in His vision to me. The end is near. Repent or be destroyed. Or don’t repent: you’re going to be destroyed regardless.

At this age, I am well aware of the forces that need to destroy the world as we know it. The destructive forces created by humans that will destroy humanity. If we are very lucky, they won’t destroy everything- just enough to help the world, as a whole, survive.

You could probably guess my suggestions for the primary natural causes of the “Day of the Lord”: nuclear holocaust and carbon poisoning. And while the exact scenario I have been blessed to reason is not something that needs to be shared, suffice it to say I believe you should get all your jollies in as soon as you can. You may not get another chance. So drink up! The World is about to end.

Ambiguity and precision are two valuable aspects to most prophecies. Often, prophets are given a clear image without understanding its meaning. Jonah was given a precise time but an ambiguous description for his prophecy. I also have been given a precise time, but an imprecise understanding of what will happen on that date. What I do know is that between the years 2025 and 2035 the difference in population will be huge between the year with the highest population and the year with the lowest. On the lowest year, the Earth will see one-third the [live] people as it had on the highest.

For every three people you know, I suggest that, at most, one of them will make it to see the year 2029. When the crusader said “kill them all and let God sort it out,” I don’t think he meant it on so massive a scale.

So let us all do our best to make the world safe for our children. But not for our children’s children, because there won’t be many of them to enjoy it. We’ve all been praying for the End of Days, but we never really considered its morrow.
