Things I have learned in my 20’s
Just because this country is religiously free doesn’t mean it’s religiously unbiased. Mitt Romney’s blatant inadequacies as a candidate will not be the reason he doesn’t get the Republican nomination, but rather he will fail because of his beliefs about Jesus.
People would rather be entertained than educated. If every kid who could play Guitar Hero on expert level picked up an actual guitar, the United States of America would have the single greatest rock band to ever walk the earth.
Corporate greed knows absolutely no limits. The writers’ strike is costing Hollywood an estimated $20 million a day. If we assume the strike will continue as long as the last WGA strike did (which was 22 weeks) that would mean Hollywood will lose $440,000,000.00 rather than acquiesce to the reasonable demands of the WGA.
Life is a matter of perspective. For instance, in some arenas “fair and balanced” means you have the right to be diametrically opposed to one line of thought rather than considering both sides of the argument
People would rather be cheap then bountiful. By purchasing goods from China we give ourselves the ability to buy goods at low prices rather than purchase American goods, pay regular prices, and bolster the American economy.
Doomsday is coming. Y2K, Mad Cow Disease, Shark Attacks, Asian Bird Flu, SARS, and Global Warming all are or have been legitimate concerns. I am always looking forward to the media telling me what is coming to kill me next.
